You may adopt a puppy or small dog from Precious Friends, or place your litter in our program. 

How to Adopt

 Precious Friends has two ways you can adopt.

 The first way is that you pay a fee of $150.00 for your pet and that will include their vaccinations for the age of the pet. If it's a puppy it will still need more vaccinations according to it's age and you will be responsible for that. You will need to start your pet on heart worm prevention at around 3 months of age. Your puppy will have at least one DHLP+P, Distemper Measles, Bordetella, and your puppy will be dewormed. This will cover  the spay or netuer. It will also cover wormer and flea prevention to be used one week prior to the surgery. We will set up the surgery with Animal House Veterinary Clinic. You will take your pet the monring of the surgery and pick it up later in the day.

The second way to adop is you pay a fee of $150.00 and everything above is the same, (as far as vaccines and wormer) except you will have your pet spayed or neutered at your veterinarian and pay their cost and you will need to bring the receipt to us and we will refund $60.00. We will tell you what month you need to have your pet spayed or neutered.

If your pet is over 6 months of age we will check it for heartworm and start it on the prevention which is included with the adoption fee.

You must fill out an application and be approved.

We recommend to parents it is better to first come in and fill out an application and when your approved to bring back your child to then choose a puppy.

03/2009 - Thanks to Violas Dog Rescue, these Schipperkes came to Precious Friends from what could be described as a puppy mill situation.   The Kraft family fostered them while we found exactly the right family.   The Shipp  family came to Clarksville from North Carolina to pick up the babies and start their new lives as spoiled pets.  A lot of people were involved, but it was worth it. 

Recieving Puppies 

  We take in an average of 400 puppies and 50 small breed adult dogs per month.  People whose dogs have unwanted litters of puppies can bring in the pups to Precious Friends at the age of 6 weeks, to receive free vaccinations.  Then, they can be brought back ten days to two weeks later to be placed up for adoption.
