Memorial Wall

All pet lovers understand the heartache that comes with the loss of a beloved pet. Humans outlive domestic animals, so pet owners are destined to face losses in their lifetime. However, the love they receive exceeds the pain of the loss.
Linda Hutchison, founder and business manager of Precious Friends, is opening to the public a way to permanently memorialize pets people have loved and lost.
People who have lost pets of any kind are invited to purchase an 8-by-16 block in the memorial wall. For $30, people can have several pets' names painted on one block, or they can buy separate blocks for each pet.
Painted on the Memorial Wall are the names of lost pets, along with beautiful pictures of animals at the 'Rainbow Bridge', painted by Jill Dockett. The focal painting of the wall is the Rainbow Bridge, referring to a poem that says owner and pet will one day reunite.
On May 12 of every year, the staff at Precious Friends will light a candle for each name painted on the Memorial Wall.
