  Cathie Emmett

 I am the Director of Precious Friends.  I have been working here for fifteen years and loving every minute of it.  It has always been my dream to work with puppies and when I got hired here my dream came true.  I tend to the puppies by cleaning, feeding, giving medication when necessary, and checking each puppy when they come into our program.  I help make arrangements to schedule the puppies to come in and vaccinate when necessary.  I have been working with the puppies and I hope we will be around for a long, long time.

I have been working at Precious Friends for about 6 months. I have two dogs of my own, Hagen which I adopted from Precious Friends and I also have Lexie. I really enjoy my job at Precious Friends.

I founded Precious Friends in 1992.  I had the hope of working myself out of a job by spaying and neutering.  That way there would be no puppies that needed homes.  I know that will never happen in my lifetime.  I'm very proud of the work we do here and all of the lives we save.  If it wasn't for North Shore Animal League America, we wouldn't be able to save these pets.  Thank you NSALA !  

I have eight dogs of my own.  They all are rescue dogs.  I'm very lucky to live on a big farm where they can all run and be happy.  Three of them come to work with me.  Rescue pets are wonderful.  They seem to know you saved their life, and they give the love back 100 times over.

Dr. Mark Hackett

 Dr. Hackett has worked with Precious Friends Puppy Rescue since 1992 when we first opened our doors.  We appreciate his dedication to our program.  We couldn't do it without him.  He visits our shelter 2 - 3 times per week to check puppies.  He is also on our Board of Directors.  He can be reached at:

  I have been working at Precious Friends for about a year.  At home I have 2 Boxers, Penny and Buffy, Jessi the chihuahua, and a Beagle named Shirley.  I love my job at Precious Friends.
